Construction consultancy.
E.L_B is Elliot Lipley's independent consultancy practice, bringing thirteen years of hands-on construction experience directly into the design process.
Elliot has spent his career on the tools as a builder, carpenter and cabinet and furniture maker, while simultaneously building and running his own design-led construction company. That combination of practical making, project delivery and commercial experience forms the basis of the consultancy.
Working with architects, interior designers and private clients, E.L_B provides construction detailing, value engineering, costing, procurement, material specification, layout development and buildability advice, primarily across RIBA Stages 1–4. The focus is on resolving design, cost and construction constraints early, before they become expensive compromises on site.
The practice also provides specialist support for kitchens, bespoke cabinetry and furniture — developing designs into buildable details, advising on materials and construction methods, costing work, sourcing makers and fabricators, and overseeing procurement and delivery.
E.L_B can also work between designers, contractors and specialist trades, translating design intent into practical construction and fabrication without needing to act as the main contractor.
Practical construction knowledge, applied before construction begins.
